Members of ECVS work together and with others, across the whole of the county and in area clusters, to support the voluntary and community sector in Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Some examples of this work in action:

Connect Well Essex
Connect Well is a collaboration of mid Essex CVSs: Chelmsford Centre Supporting Voluntary Action, Community 360 Braintree and Maldon & District CVS. Connect Well is an online self-care self-referral tool that enables people to feel more involved in their community, meet new people or make changes to improve their health and wellbeing.

An online directory of over 3,000 Voluntary and Community Sector organisations. CVSs collaborate across 8 districts in sharing a contact management system to reduce duplication.

Essex Shed Network
The Essex Shed Network is a not-for-profit partnership between Maldon & District CVS and CVS Uttlesford and funded by National Lottery’s Community Fund. 

Essex Timebank Network
Community 360 works in partnership with Brentwood CVS, Chelmsford Centre Supporting Voluntary Action, BB&W CVS, SAVS, VAEF, Thurrock CVS, Tendring Timebank, Uttlesford Volunteer Centre to offer a Time Banks in every district where people can exchange time and skills within each locality and across borders.  

Voluntary Sector Training
VST helps to support the training needs of the paid staff and volunteers of voluntary and community organisations of all sizes across Essex, Southend and Thurrock.

Volunteer Essex
Volunteer Essex launched in July 2010 and brings CVS hosted and independent Volunteer Centres together to provide a consistent county-wide service.

Digital Inclusion Pilot West Essex
As part of a DCMS funded pilot in West Essex CVS’s are delivering, testing and learning from Digital Buddies sessions supporting learning and the increased confidence in the use of digital by the elderly and those of any age living with a disability. As part of the same pilot 5 Living Smart Homes have been equipped based on individual need with the latest digital technology to support increased independence in their homes, increased tech confidence and a reduction in their loneliness through the use of this new and emerging technology.
